The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is a data protection regulation that protects the privacy of citizens in the European Union.  The regulation is unclear, contradictory in many areas, and compliance can be burdensome.  There’s more bad news -- failure to comply can result in fines that can total 4% of a company’s worldwide revenue.  While the regulation only applies to the EU, now, many people believe it’s only a matter of time before something like it will adopted in the US.

To help you understand the regulation, make an informed decision on what your position will be on it, and chart the best way to apply it in your business, we’ve assembled a panel of experts from the fields of law, IT security, and marketing.  In addition to explaining the regulation and answering your questions about it, we’ll also be covering current US data privacy regulations.

Among the issues the panel will cover are:

  • What if I’m not serving any customers in the EU, but I’m holding the data of EU individuals?

  • What are some practical ways to achieve compliance with GDPR?

  • How does GDPR impact my marketing campaigns?

  • If we are compliant with US data privacy regulations, what do we need to do to also be in compliance with GDPR?

  • What should we do in light of GDPR when there’s a data security incident at our company. At one of our subcontractors?
