We are following strict COVID-19 guidelines as given to us by the CDC to ensure the safety or our guests and employees. Masks must be worn in all common areas. The Hexa Center’s interior environment is cleaned and disinfected daily with an all-natural, non-toxic, safe, eco-friendly method of disinfecting and sanitizing, and tables are spaced 6 ft. apart to insure social distancing. We provide gloved waitstaff to serve all food and drinks during event to minimize contact with food.
This event will include networking with local members and prospective members and a panel discussion led by the PDA Dallas Committee chairs explaining the many benefits of membership in Private Directors Association. We will provide information regarding resources, educational programs, director development, board opportunities, and networking. We will also have a special guest to talk about PDAs nationwide efforts to provide Board opportunities.

Larry King is a proven and effective strategic leader, serial entrepreneur and business builder with over 30 years of extensive experience assisting companies in complex transactions. He is considered a highly effective client facing executive, active in marketing, business development and brand building. Larry strives to achieve collaboration at all levels of an organization by setting the example.
Larry currently serves on the Board and as Lead Director and Audit Committee Chair for nDivision, Inc., a Dallas based Public Company which provides managed IT services and project-based professional services in the IT industry. He is on the Advisory Board and serves as the CFO and COO at WhamTech, Inc., a privately-held technology company in Dallas, TX, providing security-centric distributed virtual data management and analytics platform solutions. The company currently is focused on a range of industries including, IT services, financial services, and defense industry companies. Additionally, Larry serves on the Advisory Board for Amegy Bank-Dallas; on the Advisory Board for Kwivik Therapeutics, Inc; and on the Advisory Board for BlockQAI LLC. Other current roles include: Association for Corporate Growth (ACG) DFW Advisory Council to the Board (President 2016/2017; Executive Committee 2015-2018); and TeXchange Dallas Advisory Board.
He founded and grew KBA Group, LLP into the largest Dallas based CPA and Advisory firm with a diversified menu of services and led the firm’s strategic growth, both organic and through acquisition. Larry initiated and constructed the firm’s merger with the tenth largest national CPA firm, and served as the Dallas office Managing Partner post-merger. He later transitioned to the role of South Region Leader of the Transaction Services Group before retiring from the firm in 2015. Throughout his career, he has assisted clients with business strategy, transactions including IPOs, reverse mergers, Special Purpose Acquisition Companies, and mergers and acquisitions from both the buy side and sell side. Larry has worked with both domestic and international companies in numerous industries including manufacturing and distribution, technology, software, services, energy, logistics, healthcare, real estate and retail.
He was recognized for the Texas Society of CPAs Lone Star Pathfinder Award in 2000, was a Boys & Girls Clubs Profiles in Leadership Semifinalist in 2003, and was Highlighted in D CEO Magazine in 2007. Larry is also an alumni of the Dallas Regional Chamber of Commerce Leadership Dallas Class of 2011. Under his leadership, KBA Group was recognized for the following honors and awards: North Dallas Chamber of Commerce Business of the Year–2000; Practical Accountant Practice Innovation Award – 2002 and 2005; Association for Accounting Marketing, Marketing Achievement Award – 2005; Journal of Accountancy Feature Article - recognized for Sarbanes-Oxley Compliance marketing campaign–2005; Addison Texas Magazine Most Dynamic Business Award – 2007; Dallas Regional Chamber of Commerce Employee Excellence Award–2008; Dallas Business Journal Best Places to Work –2008.
Larry is a graduate of Babson College, Wellesley, Massachusetts with a BS in Accounting and Operations Research graduating Beta Gamma. He is a Certified Public Accountant and a Chartered Global Management Accountant through the American Institute of CPAs. Kathryn is a Certified Public Accountant and received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Major in Accounting from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas on a full academic scholarship. She has achieved an Executive Certificate in Nonprofit Governance through the Institute for Excellence in Corporate Governance, Naveen Jindal School of Management at The University of Texas at Dallas. Kathryn is a Founding Member of the Dallas Fort Worth Chapter of the Private Directors Association.
As a Managing Partner in the consulting firm Capital CFO Partners LLC, Kathryn delivered value to her clients in the role of fractional Chief Financial Officer or interim Chief Audit Executive, as well as other initiatives involving the assessment of financial strategies, internal control systems (Sarbanes-Oxley programs for public companies) and risk management at the governance level. Her responsibilities to the firm included standardizing firm methodologies and performing business development. She also played an important role in recruiting qualified resources for the firm.
While serving as Senior Vice President and Chief Audit Executive for Penson Worldwide, Inc., a public company securities clearing firm, Kathryn provided the vision and execution leadership for the Internal Audit and Sarbanes-Oxley (“SOX”) compliance functions. Utilizing more than thirty years of experience in finance and accounting, she transformed those areas into highly productive programs, adding value and substantially decreasing cost. She effectively increased the level of communications with the Audit Committee to sharpen their focus on what mattered most to the company’s success. Because of her knowledge and abilities, Kathryn was twice called upon to be the interim Global Corporate Controller when the need arose.
Kathryn’s previous experience also includes nine years with Electronic Data Systems (“EDS”), a $21 Billion annual revenue technology services provider. Most notably, she led the team responsible for the first-year program implementation and ongoing operation of EDS’ compliance for Sarbanes-Oxley. Prior to EDS, Kathryn was Chief Financial Officer for Hilton Reservations Worldwide, the global Central Reservations System operation for Hilton Hotels, and the opening Chief Financial Officer for Lone Star Park at Grand Prairie, a horse race track located in a Dallas, Texas suburb. As the Director of Finance for the Loews Anatole Hotel in Dallas, she directed the successful implementation of several systems critical to the operation of this 1620-room, $125 Million annual revenue convention hotel. Earlier in her career, Kathryn was in financial leadership at Ramada Inns, Inc. during the construction/pre-opening phase and first-year operations of the Tropicana Atlantic City (the sixth Atlantic City Casino). She began her experience in public accounting with the firm of Laventhal & Horwath in Las Vegas, Nevada.
