Jack Doty

Jack has substantial experience managing emerging growth, manufacturing, distribution and real estate development companies. He has particular expertise in three industries attractive to entrepreneurs: life sciences, food/consumer package goods and real estate development.  Jack’s career has ranged from entrepreneurial startups to major company turn-a-rounds. He is a business advisor to the CEO and CBDO at California Life Sciences Association, assessing its current and future steps and facilitating its senior management conference. A company he headed built 248- unit Post Street Towers in San Francisco. He performed as Vice Chairman and CFO of $100 million Granny Goose Foods, taking it from a $3 million loss to a $5 million profit. He performed as acting CFO of $50M Honolulu Shipyards and spearheaded the team that took the company out of pending foreclosure, refinanced it and led it through re-organization to profitability. He has successfully performed as Acting CFO and COO of a branded national Whole Foods level importer, as Acting CFO of an international federally funded non-profit education foundation, as financing consultant for several emerging companies, and as Managing Director for Finance of a Private Equity Fund. Jack now directs his considerable business infrastructure skills and experience to the rapidly expanding California Life Sciences world. He introduces capital sources to CEOs and helps CEOs of emerging growth and middle market companies build their corporate infrastructure, grow faster, improve performance, and prepare their businesses for capital transactions. He has founded and served as initial chair on over 140 boards of directors.

Dorlisa Al Ghous

Al Ghous is the Chief Information Security Officer for a global Internet of Things (IoT) Cloud company focused on helping customers achieve their digital transformation goals. In this capacity Al’s Cyber Security organization has been helping to build a portfolio of secure and resilient products and services. In doing so, Al works with the Leadership team to drive growth while balancing risk.  Al has been in the Cyber Security industry for over 20 years contributing in different capacities from Product Security and Risk Management to Solution Consulting and Privacy/Compliance. Al is active in the Cyber Security industry and part of several industry organizations and consortiums as well as member of several advisory boards. Al is also a Co- Founder of Silicon Valley CISO Investments (SVCI), an angel investor syndicate based out of San Francisco. Al has held leadership roles in numerous organizations including GE, Ernst and Young, Oracle, Kaiser Permanente and Informatica.


Tamara Gracon

Highly-skilled tech savvy Managing Director with 12 years executive experience including expertise in strategy, process improvement, technology selection and deployment, and global project management for a $26B revenue company. In-depth executive experience identifying and resolving multi-disciplinary (tax, transfer pricing (TP), supply chain, and valuation) issues facing firms in technology, media and consumer products industries, specifically cost sharing/complex IP structure implementation and maintenance. Mastery in efficient and accountable guidance to harmonize diverse points of view and drive solutions that are feasible in real world situations given client’s capacity and budget.  AYSO Region 26 (Palo Alto) Board Member and an active youth coach in soccer, basketball, and Little League.


Dushyant Pathak
Founder & President, VentureEdge LLC

Dr. Pathak has close to two decades of senior management experience with Fortune-500, publicly traded, early-stage and start-up companies.  He is the founder and president of VentureEdge LLC, which provides advisory services to entrepreneurial companies, investors / VCs and established biotech and biopharmaceutical companies in business development, operations and strategic planning.   Additionally, he led technology commercialization, corporate engagement, startup formation and capital raising, and the launch of a network of local and regional incubators at UC Davis.   Dr. Pathak served as the first entrepreneur-in-residence at Mission Bay Capital, having previously worked in venture capital at Connecticut Innovations.. He has held numerous executive leadership roles in biotechnology companies, which have included vice president of business development at iPierian and Zosano Pharma, vice president of program management and corporate development at Renovis, where he led business development, clinically-directed program management and commercial planning, and senior vice president of business development & strategic planning at Centaur Pharmaceuticals.  Dushyant’s C-level roles have included president and chief executive officer of Cellexicon, and chief executive officer and board director of BioProtocol, cancer molecular-diagnostics and biopharma information sciences startups, respectively.  His business development experience has included positions at Chiron Corporation, Arris Pharmaceutical Co., Axys Pharmaceuticals, Renovis, Centaur Pharmaceuticals, iPierian, Zosano and multiple diverse engagements through VentureEdge LLC, which he launched in 2008.  Dushyant received a Ph.D. in biochemistry, molecular biology and cell biology from Northwestern University, an M.B.A. from the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley, and a B.A. in natural science and mathematics from Bennington College. He was a Damon Runyon-Walter Winchell Cancer Fund postdoctoral fellow and subsequently, a member of the research faculty at Yale University within its Howard Hughes Medical Institute.


Ken Perry

Ken Perry has four decades of diversified experience in institutional commercial real estate with demonstrated success in value creation, successful investment realization, and strategic planning.  He recently retired from The Swig Company, LLC, where he had served as President and CEO since 2014 and where he was responsible for all aspects of the company’s operations including investment activities, strategic planning, and investor relations.  As the Chief Executive of a third-generation family owned investment and operating business Mr. Perry was deeply involved with family owners in matters of governance, ownership transitions, liquidity, and generational planning.  During his tenure he reported directly to the company Board of Directors, comprised of family and non-family Directors, and since 2015 he has been a voting member of the Board.  Mr. Perry retired from his role as President and CEO in August 2018, however he is continuing as an Independent Director on The Swig Company Board of Directors and is presently the Board Chair.   He joined The Swig Company in 1998.  Prior to his tenure as CEO he served as Chief Investment Officer and Director of Asset Management and was responsible for all of the Company’s investment and portfolio operating activities.  Before joining The Swig Company Mr. Perry was the Director of Asset Services for Northern California for Cushman & Wakefield. He has also held senior positions with Northern California regional developers Bedford Properties and Norland Properties. He began his real estate career as an office leasing broker with Cushman & Wakefield in Denver, Co.  Mr. Perry is a member of Lambda Alpha, the Private Directors Association (San Francisco chapter Founding Member), and a former Board member and past President of BOMA San Francisco.  He resides in Marin County, California with his wife Jeannie, and they have two adult daughters and one grandson.
