We will begin with a short presentation by Chapter President Jack Doty on the primary objective of a Board of Directors, the responsibilities of a Director, what Directors actually do including specific roles and functions, tools to facilitate effective Board meetings, and helpful resources available from PDA. Looking forward to seeing you there!

Jack Doty
Managing Member, Metro Pacific
President, PDA San Francisco Chapter

Jack has substantial experience managing emerging growth, manufacturing, distribution and real estate development companies. He has particular expertise in three industries attractive to entrepreneurs: life sciences, food/consumer package goods and real estate development.  Jack’s career has ranged from entrepreneurial startups to major company turn-a-rounds. He is a business advisor to the CEO and CBDO at California Life Sciences Association, assessing its current and future steps and facilitating its senior management conference. A company he headed built 248- unit Post Street Towers in San Francisco. He performed as Vice Chairman and CFO of $100 million Granny Goose Foods, taking it from a $3 million loss to a $5 million profit. He performed as acting CFO of $50M Honolulu Shipyards and spearheaded the team that took the company out of pending foreclosure, refinanced it and led it through re-organization to profitability. He has successfully performed as Acting CFO and COO of a branded national Whole Foods level importer, as Acting CFO of an international federally funded non-profit education foundation, as financing consultant for several emerging companies, and as Managing Director for Finance of a Private Equity Fund. Jack now directs his considerable business infrastructure skills and experience to the rapidly expanding California Life Sciences world. He introduces capital sources to CEOs and helps CEOs of emerging growth and middle market companies build their corporate infrastructure, grow faster, improve performance, and prepare their businesses for capital transactions. He has founded and served as initial chair on over 140 boards of directors.
