In this event we will discuss how the ownership structure of the company influences, and impacts the role of the board. We will hear insights from specialists representing ESOP, Private Equity/ Independent Sponsor and Investment Banking.





Steven Ryan

Steve Ryan joined Prairie Capital Advisors in 2018. He specializes in new business development initiatives for Prairie. He has over 25 years of new business and banking experience with clients throughout the country. Steve has led commercial banking teams that interact with business owners and C-level executives of private and public companies. Throughout his career, he has acted as a trusted advisor to many privately-held companies to assist them in growth initiatives, business transitions and liquidity events. Steve frequently presents on a variety of topics including ownership transition alternatives, financing ESOPs and capital allocation in a wide variety of venues, such as the National Center for Employee Ownership, The ESOP Association as well as Prairie webinars.


Sequoya Borgman
Managing Director

Mr. Borgman is the founder and Managing Director of Borgman Capital LLC. Mr. Borgman has over 18 years of mergers and acquisitions structuring, planning, and due diligence experience. Prior to founding Borgman Capital LLC, Mr. Borgman was a partner and practice leader for RSM US LLP, a large multi-national public accounting firm. Much of his practice consisted of private equity firms or their partner companies. He has significant experience consulting on complex transactions for both large public and large and small private companies, many with international operations. He has been involved in hundreds of merger, acquisition, restructuring, and financing   transactions over his career.

Mr. Borgman holds both Masters and Bachelor Degrees in accounting from East Carolina University. He is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in Wisconsin, Illinois, and North Carolina.  He is also involved in leadership positions with a variety of non-profit and professional organizations.


Ann Hanna
Managing Director and Owner

Ann has a proven track record leading successful merger and acquisition projects for middle-market companies. Her distinctive background includes more than 20 years of C-level management experience, including involvement in multiple corporate start-ups.

As managing director and owner of Taureau Group, Ann was instrumental in guiding the firm’s intentional evolution. From its roots within a regional CPA firm, she reinvented the M&A practice to create a true boutique investment banking practice. Today, the firm is a fully independent investment banking firm that upholds a relentless drive to realize the best outcomes for clients.

Ann is a licensed investment banker and real estate broker with extensive operational experience as owner of several successful businesses. Her background also includes corporate work for General Motors and Shell Oil.



Inge Plautz
SVP, Executive Business Development Officer
Old National Bank

Inge Plautz serves as Senior Vice President and Executive Business development Officer for Wisconsin with a special emphasis on the Milwaukee Region of Old National Bank (ONB). Old National has nearly $20 Billion in assets and was founded in 1834 in the State of Indiana. ONB’s Wisconsin presence is centered among the most dynamic markets of Milwaukee, Madison and the Fox Valley.

Prior to joining Old National in 2018, Inge spent more than 13 years within finance, accounting and commercial insurance. Inge’s expertise includes Global Trade, Leveraged Finance, Bond Financing Structured Finance  Capital Markets and traditional Commercial and Industrial banking. Inge also has deep expertise in Health Care and Employee Benefits.

Inge is also the Co-founder of Pump Hero, LLC, which is a mobile App that connects on-the-go nursing mothers to safe, clean and convenient locations to pump. Inge is an avid community supporter with extensive board and volunteer service. She serves as an Advisor to LeaseCrunch a software technology company. She is on the Membership Committee for Tempo Milwaukee, steering committee member of Milwaukee Women inc, committee member for the Milwaukee Boys & Girls Club Celebrating G.I.R.L.S , serves on the board of The First Tee of Southeast WI and is a board member of Ducks Unlimited. Inge also gives her time to many initiatives devoted to STEM and empowerment of young women. She is a certified PADI Rescue Diver and holds State of Wisconsin Accident, Health & Life License.

A Graduate of University of Wisconsin Madison, Inge holds an Executive Masters of Business Administration and Bachelors degree triple majors in Finance International Business and French.  A native of South Africa, Inge speaks four languages including Afrikaans, French
and Zulu.
