Maryann Bruce
Independent Board Director

Maryann is an experienced independent director and Former Fortune 100 Division President & CEO with expertise in strategy, sales and marketing, and new product development. She has more than 30 years of success as a dynamic leader with full P&L responsibility in the financial services industry. The breadth and depth of her experience comes from serving in executive and board leadership positions for start-ups and firms of various sizes and organizational structure.

Maryann is currently an independent director of Amalgamated Bank (NASDAQ: AMAL) and the Chair of the Board of Wrestle Like A Girl. Previously she was an independent director of MBIA (NYSE: MBI) and Atlanta Life Financial Group, a mutual fund trustee of Allianz Global Investors and PNC funds, as well as a board member of the National Association of Corporate Directors Carolinas’ Chapter and the C200 Foundation.

In acknowledgment of her leadership and expertise, Maryann was honored by Directors & Boards magazine as one of twenty accomplished female board members in Directors to Watch. US Banker magazine also named Maryann one of The 25 Most Powerful Women in Banking for her business vision, personal excellence and professional integrity.

Maryann earned the CERT Certificate in Cybersecurity Oversight from Carnegie Mellon’s Software Engineering Institute. She graduated magna cum laude from Duke University with a BA in Economics.


Dorlisa Flur
Independent Board Director

Dorlisa Flur is an active business and community leader in Charlotte. She first moved here as a partner with McKinsey & Company, where she spent the first half of her more than 30-year professional career. She spent the second half as a C-level operating executive in three multi-billion-dollar retailers, including Family Dollar and Belk.

Dorlisa was most recently Chief Strategy and Transformation Officer at Southeastern Grocers, an $8 billion sales supermarket holding company based in Jacksonville, Florida. Following the company’s successful restructuring, she transitioned to a senior advisor role to the CEO/Board and began her “Phase 3” career serving on corporate boards.

She currently serves as a Director for Hibbett Sports, Inc. (NASDAQ: HIBB), a publicly-traded, athletically-inspired fashion retailer; and also as a Director for United States Cold Storage, Inc., a provider of refrigerated warehousing and logistics, owned by a privately-held U.K. conglomerate. In January 2020, she was elected to the board of Sally Beauty Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: SBH), a publicly-traded, $4 billion sales specialty retailer of professional beauty supplies.

Dorlisa is also an active civic leader who has chaired both the Bechtler Museum of Modern Art and Blumenthal Performing Arts boards. She is currently Vice Chair of the Board of Advisors at UNCC’s Belk College of Business. She was appointed to the NACD-Carolinas board in January 2020 and is among the first to have passed the NACD’s new Director Certification exam.

Dorlisa earned her B.S. and M.B.A. degrees from Duke University, where she met her husband, Peter. They have been happily married for more than 30 years and live in Ballantyne with their daughter, now a student at Northwestern University.


Louis Foreman
Founder and CEO

Louis Foreman is founder and CEO of Enventys, an integrated product design and engineering firm, and is also the founder of Edison Nation. Louis graduated from The University of Illinois with a BA in economics, and founded his first company in his fraternity room as a sophomore. Over the past 34 years he has created ten successful start-ups and has been directly responsible for the creation of over 20 others; he is also the inventor of ten registered U.S. patents, and Enventys is responsible for the development and filing of well over 700 more.

Louis is an adjunct professor of entrepreneurship and innovation at Queens University, is an adjunct professor and the Entrepreneur in Residence at the McColl School of Business and was the 2013 Distinguished Visiting Professor at Johnson & Wales University, where he continues to teach.

Louis currently serves as Board Chairman of the James Dyson Foundation, the Intellectual Property Owners Association, New Dominion Bank and the Intellectual Property Owners Educational Foundation. He is also the current Chair of the SBA Small Business Development Center Board.

In 2011, Louis briefed on multiple occasions the U.S. House and Senate Judiciary Committees on legislation related to the U.S. patent system, resulting in the most comprehensive overhaul to the U.S. Patent System in over 60 years.



Susan Jamison
Wealth Matters, LLC

Susan has been the founder/owner of Wealth Matters, LLC since 2014. This family office consulting firm is focused on planning for high net worth families, family offices and firms that serve and support them. Susan launched Wealth Matters, LLC after serving as the key executive to a multi-family office in Charlotte, NC for over 20 years. Prior to entering the family office world, Susan was a senior manager at KPMG Charlotte in the assurance practice.

Susan’s professional skills and services through Wealth Matters, LLC includes:

  • Expertise in income, gift, and estate tax planning
  • Private foundation establishment and management
  • Charitable planning with various entity types, CRT, CLT,donor advised fund and private foundations
  • Served as coexecutor on complex estates that were audited by IRS
  • Currently serve as cotrustee on complex family trusts
  • Organizer and Chair of the Charlotte Family Office Forum
  • Member of FORGE

Her current Board experience includes: UNCC Foundation Board, UNCC Investment Fund member, CPCC Foundation Board, John M. Belk Endowment investment committee member, Charlotte Mecklenburg Library Finance Campaign committee member. Past Board experience includes: Southern Evangelical Seminary board member and chair Blumenthal Performing Arts Board member.
