Vicki Turnquist is the retired president and CEO of Private Bank Minnesota, which she founded and led for more than 18 years. She helped the bank grow to $175 million in assets before successfully leading the transition of the organization to new ownership in 2014. Being at the helm of her own organization for nearly two decades is what makes Vicki such an effective CEO advisor for The Bailey Group. In her role at The Bailey Group she does executive leadership coaching with senior leaders.  She has a firsthand appreciation for the challenges those senior leaders face and a successful track record in growing a business from the ground up.

 

Terri Spiro

Terrie Spiro is Chairman and CEO at TNP, Financial Enterprise Consulting.  Terrie is a proven leader in the financial services industry with over 30 years of industry experience. Her scope of experience includes Founder, CEO, Bank Director, Board Advisor, Turnaround Specialist, Re-Engineering consultant, and corporate banker. She is a Co-founder and Board Chair of Bank on Women, Inc. Ms. Spiro was recruited to Cecil as a “White Knight” in November, 2013 to lead a turnaround of Cecil, which at that time was a highly troubled 50+ -year-old community bank in N.E. Maryland. After seven years of service, Ms. Spiro resigned from Cecil at year-end 2020. Ms. Spiro led a turnaround described by the placement agent in its press release “as one of the more complex balance sheet restructuring(s) accomplished by a community bank since the Great Depression.”

Jennifer Docherty is a Managing Director and Associate General Counsel at Piper Sandler. Jennifer is a senior financial and legal advisor with nearly two decades of experience at the #1 ranked investment bank for M&A and capital raising for financial institutions since 2009. She is a Co-founder, Director & Chief Executive Officer of Bank on Women, Inc., a non-profit organization dedicated to educating the community banking industry on the importance of women in senior leadership and promoting more women on the board and in the c-suite.

 

Katie M. Wahlquist

Katie Wahlquist serves as Chief Administrative Officer and member of the Board of Directors for Star Bank, a $340M independent community bank in Minnesota that her family has owned and managed since 1990. There she oversees departments and key talent including human resources and training; marketing and digital innovation; retail banking; and compliance. Katie is also responsible for four of the bank’s office locations. She says that her greatest passion as a community banker lies in helping employees find their own leadership voice and partnering together toward a common mission and vision.

Katie is working to shatter the glass ceiling and has been recognized by both peers and industry experts as a leading woman in finance. She was named to the top “Women in Business” by the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal in 2020 and received the “Top Women in Finance” award from Finance & Commerce in 2019. BankBeat magazine named Katie one of five “Outstanding Women in Banking” in 2018.

In addition to her leadership experience in financial services, Katie is passionate about empowering the next generation of women leaders while giving back to the communities she serves. Katie is a founding member of the Tiffany Circle Society of Women Leaders with the national organization of the American Red Cross. She also serves on the Board of the Minnesota Bankers Association’s for-profit subsidiary and the Board of Transforming Resources, a Minnesota non-profit. In her spare time, Katie develops content and owns a blog entitled Leadership Legacy™ which is found at leadershiplegacy.net.

Kris St.Martin is the Bank Program Director for CBIZ and coordinates the marketing of the 30 plus service offerings to financial institutions. Kris’s practice specialty is board risk and cyber risk and the placing of insurance protections. Kris served for over 20 years in the banking industry and most recently was a founder and CEO of a community bank. Kris was recently awarded the Bank on Women’s inaugural “Champions Award” and the CBIZ Women’s Advantage 2020 “Champions Award”.
