Tom Leppert is currently Chairman of the Board of Directors of Austin Industries, a Board member and investor of ConstructionBevy, a Board member of Flour, and an advisory Board member of Cerity Partners. Tom is the former CEO of large companies in multiple industries (building, financial services, education and real estate development/investments) and former elected Mayor of a major of Dallas. He is an experienced Board member, including serving as non-executive Chair, in multiple industries, public and private companies and internationally

           

Rick Lacher
Managing Director
Houlihan Lokey



Rick Lacher serves as the Managing Director in Houlihan Lokey’s Mergers & Acquisitions Group and as Co-Head of the firm’s M&A Committee and Co-Head of the firm's Board and Special Committee Advisory practice. He has more than three decades of experience advising public and private clients on mergers, acquisitions, dispositions, leveraged buyouts, and capital-raising activities (senior, mezzanine/subordinated, and equity) as well as in connection with assessing strategic alternatives. Before joining Houlihan Lokey, Mr. Lacher was a Senior Managing Director in the Dallas investment banking office of Bear, Stearns & Co. He also practiced corporate and securities law at the Dallas-based firm of Hughes & Luce (now KL Gates), where he was a partner in its corporate division. Mr. Lacher holds a B.B.A. in Accounting and a J.D. from the University of Texas, where he was a Chancellor as well as a member of the Order of the Coif and the Texas Law Review. He has been licensed in Texas as an attorney and a Certified Public Accountant.

           

Christopher Slijk
Associate Economist
Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas



Christopher Slijk is an associate economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas. As a member of the Research Department’s regional group, Slijk’s work focuses on economic growth in Texas and the Eleventh Federal Reserve District. He coordinates the production and written releases of the Dallas Fed’s Texas Service Sector and Retail Outlook Surveys. He also produces articles for various Bank publications and academic journals. His background includes work in time-series forecasting, real-time data analysis, and regional economic development.

Slijk is a Certified Business Economist by the National Association of Business Economics. He has a BA in economics from Cornell University.

Executive Summary As Grant Thornton’s Central Region Managing Partner, Nichole’s primary focus is on developing and retaining our people, driving market leadership, as well as empowering our teams to help our clients achieve their most critical business goals. She is an inclusive leader who is focused on building a diverse, equitable and inclusive culture of belonging for all.

Nichole works to empower our 3,000 professionals in our Central region across 20 states and 19 offices to serve thousands of US and global clients within multiple industries. She works with our teams to deliver value and insights to clients in the region, ensuring that we take an enterprise-wide perspective to serving each client’s needs. She also leads the region’s efforts to attract, retain, and develop our professionals, engendering a strong culture of collaboration, client service, and community engagement.

As a member of GT’s national leadership team, Nichole participates in firm strategy development and operational execution. She has had extensive experience working across the US as a client service partner, growth leader, industry leader and senior advisor on Fortune 500 clients. She has been deeply involved in developing the firm’s key alliance and channel relationships in a variety of markets, as well as building our network of executive peer advisory boards and other leadership forums around the country.

Nichole’s leadership portfolio includes serving as GT’s national managing partner of Markets, Clients and Industry, overseeing the firm’s strategic key client portfolio, industry sectors, regions, sales, market intelligence and customer analytics. Prior to that role, she was a member of the firm’s Partnership Board, while also serving as the national managing partner for GT’s Banking and Securities industry practice, as well as the leader of markets and industries in metropolitan New York and New England.
