Overview

Navigating challenging times and topics are a normal part of the oversight process. For a board to operate at its best, personal differences and opinions must be carefully handled. You can increase your effectiveness in these types of situations by understanding and managing triggers in yourself and others. In this presentation, we’ll take a closer look at:

  • How your brain works and why we react so strongly to triggers;
  • The five most common social triggers – and which ones impact you the most;
  • Practical steps to manage your response to a trigger; and
  • How to avoid triggering others.
