Contact the Event Chair, George Boyadjis, before January 16, and there will be no charge.  Cancellations received after 1/16 (and event no-shows) will be charged the full applicable registration fee.  Substitutions are allowed.

Overview

Elizabeth Holmes and her company, Theranos, Inc., promised a revolutionary blood test technology, that was valued as high as $10 billion in 2014.

In 2018, the Securities and Exchange Commission filed civil charges against Holmes and Theranos, alleging massive fraud committed to obtain $700 million from investors. Holmes was also criminally prosecuted and later convicted for defrauding investors. Later in 2018, Theranos announced that it would be winding down its business and ceased operations that September.

Panelists

Stephen O’Neill and Caitlin Hull represented the assignment estate of Theranos and managed the winddown of the company. During this presentation, they will share their thoughts on managing the wind down of a high-profile business and the decision-process for how to conduct the wind-down.
