Daphne Bernicker

Daphne Bernicker joined the Houston Chapter of the PDA in 2020 as founding Co-Chair of the Engagement Committee. She continues to serve the Houston Chapter as Co-Chair of the Houston Membership and Engagement Committee Co-Chair, and on the Executive Board. She serves a Co-Chair of the National Engagement and Retention Committee, a subcommittee of the National Membership and Engagement Committee.

Daphne is an expert on motivation and engagement and is Founder and CEO of HumanAim: developing healthy, sustainable, high performing leaders and organizations with emotional intelligence. Her coaching and consulting strategies have resulted in hundreds of millions of dollars in new revenue and value for her clients. She created the EQPlus® Motivation Profile – the first assessment which reveals how people are motivating themselves and how this directly impacts their performance (powered by Six Seconds, the Emotional Intelligence Network). People, teams and organizations use this tool to gain deep insights, make powerful positive shifts and take the action steps they need to succeed now and in the future.

Daphne is an experienced CEO, CFO, advisory board and not-for-profit board director across industries, with success in leading and supporting private and Fortune 100 organizations through major changes. She is a member of several advisory boards including Cadence Bank. She is an angel investor in the Healthcare space and is an advisor to several start-ups primarily in the Clean Energy space. She is Founding Chair of the Houston Methodist Cancer Center Council, a member of Houston Methodist Hospital Foundation Campaign Steering Committee, a Founding Fellow of the Harvard-Affiliated Institute of Coaching, and a Six Seconds Preferred Partner.

Daphne holds BA and MBA degrees from Rice University. She is an ICF Certified Emotional Intelligence Coach, is a certified Advanced Facilitator, Employee Engagement Consultant, Transformational and MBTI Coach, and is authorized by the Benson Henry Institute of Mind Body Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital, a Harvard Medical School Affiliate, to provide its Resiliency Program.

 

Verna Lynch

In 2020, Verna Lynch served as a Membership and Engagement Committee Co-Chair for the new, rapidly growing Houston Chapter of the PDA. After stepping down from the Co-chair role in January, she continues as a member of the committee and has since become an Executive Committee Member at Large for the Chapter and a Co-chair of the National Engagement and Retention Committee, a sub-committee of Membership & Engagement. She is an experienced non-profit Board member and currently serves on the Board of Advisors for three different start-ups.

As Founder and Owner of Linchpin Business Advisors LLC, Verna has over 20+ years’ experience as a strategic advisor, decision expert, and innovative problem solver of complex business challenges to Businesses across a wide spectrum of industries, seeking lasting improvement or undergoing major transition. Clients include E-Commerce, Pharmaceuticals, Biotech, Manufacturing, and Professional Services--from small business to Fortune 50 Companies.

With a proven track record for leading business transformation, most of her career has focused on the following areas:

  • Strategic Planning--including strategy-culture alignment.
  • Organizational assessment and design--including organizational restructuring and streamlining.

Rob Sligh

Rob spent 33 years in multi-generational family business leadership. Initially in brand management at SC Johnson Wax for several years, he went on to become Chairman & CEO and of Sligh Furniture and Clocks, a 4th generation manufacturing and marketing company with a majority-outside board of directors.  

He has served on twenty family business fiduciary or advisory boards and non-profit boards. On many of those, he served as Chairman of the Board and / or Chairman of the Compensation, Finance or Nominating Committee. 

Today, Rob is Chairman of the Compensation Committee and a director on the fiduciary board of Utility Supply and Construction Company. He also serves on the Advisory Boards of Spectrum Industries Inc. and Erhardt Construction Company.

Rob is a consultant for The Family Business Consulting Group, helping enterprising families with business ownership and leadership succession and creating and developing family business fiduciary and advisory boards. He also facilitates a peer group for Chairs of family business enterprises.

He is a member of the Private Directors Association where he is Chairman of the PDA Model Board Meeting℠ committee, National Association of Corporate Directors and Young Presidents Organization Gold.

Inge Plautz
SVP, Executive Business Development Officers
Old National Bank

Inge Plautz serves as Senior Vice President and Executive Business development Officer for Wisconsin with a special emphasis on the Milwaukee Region of Old National Bank (ONB). Old National has nearly $20 Billion in assets and was founded in 1834 in the State of Indiana. ONB’s Wisconsin presence is centered among the most dynamic markets of Milwaukee, Madison and the Fox Valley.

Prior to joining Old National in 2018, Inge spent more than 13 years within finance, accounting and commercial insurance. Inge’s expertise includes Global Trade, Leveraged Finance, Bond Financing Structured Finance  Capital Markets and traditional Commercial and Industrial banking. Inge also has deep expertise in Health Care and Employee Benefits.

Inge is also the Co-founder of Pump Hero, LLC, which is a mobile App that connects on-the-go nursing mothers to safe, clean and convenient locations to pump. Inge is an avid community supporter with extensive board and volunteer service. She serves as an Advisor to LeaseCrunch a software technology company. She is on the Membership Committee for Tempo Milwaukee, steering committee member of Milwaukee Women inc, committee member for the Milwaukee Boys & Girls Club Celebrating G.I.R.L.S , serves on the board of The First Tee of Southeast WI and is a board member of Ducks Unlimited. Inge also gives her time to many initiatives devoted to STEM and empowerment of young women. She is a certified PADI Rescue Diver and holds State of Wisconsin Accident, Health & Life License.

A Graduate of University of Wisconsin Madison, Inge holds an Executive Masters of Business Administration and Bachelors degree triple majors in Finance International Business and French.  A native of South Africa, Inge speaks four languages including Afrikaans, French and Zulu.
