Joe Keeley

Joe Keeley is a dynamic, yet thoughtful entrepreneur and conscious leader. As such, Keeley founded and grew College Nannies, Sitters & Tutors (CNST) into the nation’s largest in-home childcare and tutoring company. 

Keeley started CNST in 2001 from his dorm room while earning an Entrepreneurship degree from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN. CNST has since disrupted the fragmented in-home childcare market through Keeley’s people leadership, technological innovation and indomitable spirit.  CNST is now operating nearly 200 franchises on both coasts and in the Midwest and has been featured in such media outlets as Newsweek, USA Today, CNN, NPR and others.  In 2016, College Nannies, Sitters & Tutors was sold to Bright Horizons Family Solutions (NYSE: BFAM), the largest childcare operator in the United States.  Keeley continues to operation CNST today as well as serve as a Vice President for Bright Horizons Family Solutions with primary duties of continuing to scale CNST as well as applying its award-winning technology through the organization both domestically and overseas.


Keeley was named the prestigious “Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of The Year” in 2010, the “Global Student Entrepreneur of the Year” in 2003, one of the “Top 25 under 25 to Watch” by Business Week Magazine, one of the “20 under 30 Who Will Change the World” by Citizen Culture magazine, one of the Minneapolis-St. Paul Business Journal’s “Young Entrepreneurs” and “40 under 40” all by age 29. 

Keeley volunteers his time with organizations focused on the advancement of education and entrepreneurship. Keeley is a frequent guest lecturer at Colleges and Universities across the nation and is the current Vice Chair of The Children’s Theater Company Board of Governors in Minneapolis, MN. Keeley also currently serves on the Board of Governors of the University of St. Thomas Opus College of Business, is a past President of the Minnesota chapter of the Entrepreneurs’ Organization and has been appointed by Governor Mark Dayton as a Youth Education Representative for the Minnesota Commission on National and Community Service. Keeley resides in Saint Paul, MN with his wife and two school age children.

John has a LIFETIME of experience in franchising. His exposure to franchising began when he was just a child in his family’s hair salon system, “The Barbers,” which was the 1,000-plus unit, publicly traded and international organization that franchised the brands Cost Cutters, City Looks and We Care Hair. He later joined the family business, playing a major role in the integration and merger of The Barbers into Regis Corporation in 1999.

With more than twenty-five years of hands-on experience in the franchise industry, John Francis has served as a franchisee, franchisor, investor and Board Member for organizations such as Sport Clips, Cost Cutters, Inner Circle, Office Pride, Seva Beauty, Big Frog T Shirts, PostNet and the International Franchise Association.

Today, John shares his perspective and expertise as a consultant, advisor and keynote speaker to help franchise systems and professionals “see what they don’t see” and achieve their highest levels of success.
