Susan Kearney
Chair, Nominating &
Governance Committee

Susan Kearney is a managing director and board member at Newport LLC, where she advises owners of private companies on strategies related to growing, de-risking, and realizing the value of their businesses. She is a serial entrepreneur who has founded, built, and sold several technology businesses. Susan’s board career has spanned more than two decades. She is currently on the board of Metavent, a member and chair of the nominating and governance committee of the Private Director’s Association (PDA), and a founding member of PDA’s DC-Metro Chapter. Her educational background includes a BA in Russian studies and economics from the University of Virginia, an MBA in strategic management from Pace University and post-graduate studies in innovation, nonprofit executive management and organization development and change management.
