Valerie Darling is a bilingual (Spanish) senior healthcare executive and is currently CEO and Chief Business Officer of Life Sciences Management Consultants. She has held roles as a global SVP of Commercial Operations and VP of Sales and Business Development in major medical, healthcare, and life science companies.  Valerie has built and led commercial organizations and divisions from the ground floor up for Fortune 30 healthcare companies, turnarounds, and several startup companies that matured and grew into leading medical and hospital companies. As a startup entrepreneur, Valerie was one of the original four leaders who built notable companies Genzyme, ZymoGenetics, and OpGen, a hospital division for Johnson and Johnson, and Cardinal Health's oncology, immunology and specialty solutions division. Her experience spans oncology, hospitals/health systems (payers and providers), AI MedTech, medical devices, genomic molecular diagnostics with bioanalytics (IT/platforms), digital health, surgery/OR, rare diseases, specialty biotech (cardiology, oncology/immunology, infectious disease, neurology, rheumatology/pain, renal/hepatic/metabolic/diabetes, pulmonology), Covid-19 diagnostics, and pharmaceuticals.

Valerie is an angel investor, involved in several venture organizations involving entrepreneurs, venture capital groups, private equity, angels, and the Atlanta CEO Council. She is active in many professional, medical, and volunteer organizations. Her Board organizations include: Private Director's Association, OnBoard, Women on Biopharma Boards, and 2020 Women on Boards. 

Valerie's current board service includes:

  • Strategic Advisor on the Board and consultant for VIC Technology Venture Development (Private Equity investment firm with 16 portfolio companies with disruptive technology in life sciences). In addition, Valerie executes capital formation and commercial strategy for VIC.
  • Strategic Advisor on the Board and consultant for RCE Technologies (Remote Cardiac Enablement), an AI MedTech startup company and ATDC (accelerator) company of Georgia Technology. Valerie also executes seed capital formation and pre-commercial strategy for RCE.
  • Strategic Advisory Board and consultant, Ensignis Digital (digital tech)
  • Board of Directors for Family Lives on Foundation, Philadelphia, for two terms, a non-profit benefiting bereaved children
  • Leadership Team, Founding Member, and Chair of Membership and Engagement Committee for the Private Directors Association, Atlanta Chapter
