Brian Greenberg

Brian Greenberg is a Partner in Fortium Partners' Central Region where he leads technology initiatives that elevate efficiency, productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction. As a CIO and CTO, he achieves outstanding results by strengthening the enterprise architecture, introducing automation, building data resources, and launching new applications. He is an experienced leader who drives change across the business as he tames complexity, evolves strategy, and creates value for companies of all sizes. Brian has more than 25 years of experience integrating IT capabilities, working with private-equity portfolio companies, and providing stewardship of supplier and vendor relationships. He has led numerous enterprise transformation initiatives and continuous improvement programs. His experience spans a range of industries including finance, legal, manufacturing, retail, insurance, technology, and nonprofit. 

As a CIO and CTO, Brian drives IT strategy and transformation initiatives that propel business growth and profitability. He ensures technology, operations, and processes are working in concert with a company's strategic vision, customer profile, and product development priorities. His experience establishing long-term relationships with key suppliers and vendors supports consistent delivery of customer service and builds brand strength. Brian is recognized for his keen ability to develop applications, manage data solutions, and solve business challenges through systems design and reengineering. 

As a Fortium Partner, Brian leads engagements focused on IT operations, cybersecurity, and enterprise systems. He has completed numerous interim, virtual, and long-term assignments in the areas of data center management, software implementation, IT strategy, product development, risk mitigation, cloud architecture, and process improvement. His practice also includes turnaround management projects and strategic advisory roles. 

He currently serves as Adjunct Professor in the College of Computing and Digital Media at DePaul University, where he teaches courses covering cybersecurity, risk management, privacy, governance, disaster recovery, and business continuity, among many topics. Brian is also an active member of the Association of Information Technology Professionals (AITP), the Private Directors Association, the Executive's Club of Chicago, and the Turnaround Management Association. 

Brian graduated from Illinois State University with a Bachelor of Science in Philosophy an9 Applied Computer Science. Later, he earned a Master of Arts from Antioch University with a concentration in whole systems design, systems theory, and system dynamics. He is a frequent Forbes contributor and a member of the Forbes Technology Council.

Colin is a member in the firm’s national Data Privacy and Cybersecurity Practice Group. He is certified by the International Association of Privacy Professionals as a Certified Information Professional for the United States, which is considered the gold standard for information privacy professionals.

He advises clients on best practices to prevent and respond to cybersecurity concerns, including leading data breach incident response efforts in combination with forensic technical vendors and company decision-makers, provides counsel on post-breach notice obligations in accordance with state data breach notice statutes or specific contractual obligations, drafts and coordinates the delivery of required notice throughout the United States and advises on post-breach remedial measures.

Prior to joining McDonald Hopkins, Colin was the co-founder and co-leader of the Cybersecurity and Data Privacy Service at Miller, Canfield, Paddock and Stone, P.L.C.

Colin also represents large and small businesses across many industries in claims alleging breach of contract, tort, product liability, legal and accounting malpractice and securities violations.

He earned his J.D. from Wayne State University Law School in 2007. Colin received a Bachelor of Economics from the University of Michigan in 2004.

Jamal Farhat

Jamal Farhat is a recognized global leader with over 35 year experience in information technology, cyber security, outsourcing, system development, and technology/management consulting for many global public and private companies. He has held top management positions for manufacturing, engineering, and industrial companies in areas such as IT, Supply Chain, Purchasing, Customer Service, Program and Engineering Management. Jamal served as a Corporate Vice President and Chief Information Officer at BorgWarner, a $14.5 billion Fortune 500 publicly traded engineering and manufacturing company with 48,000 employees in 99 global locations. Company offers propulsion products for traditional, hybrid, and electrical vehicles.

He served on the board of a BorgWarner Joint Venture company with Chinese Auto maker consortium and has served on many advisory boards of public technology companies such Cisco, AT&T, and Microsoft, as well as private tech startups such as QLIK (data analytics) and TextIQ (artificial intelligence). He was also a member of the state of Michigan CIO board. A member of the Private Director Association, the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD), and an NACD Governance.

Jamal holds a Bachelor and Masters of Science in Electrical Engineering from Washington University and an MBA from the University of Michigan. He Holds various industry certifications including APICS CIRM and PMP.
