Bill Derry
Chairman
Field Fastener

With over 50 years of fastener distribution experience, Bill Derry has provided the strategic direction that has played a significant role in Field’s 18% year-over-year growth for the past 30+ years. His varied fastener background in product management, manufacturing management, applications and product engineering, sales management, and quality assurance help to inspire Field's "technical approach to fastening" philosophy. Bill is also a central figure in several outside industry organizations. He has served on the Board of Directors for and is a former president of the National Fastener Distributor Association (NFDA). In addition, he spent three years as a delegate to the Industrial Fastener Institute. In 2017, Bill was inducted into the Fastener Hall of Fame.  In 2023, the Private Governance Summit honored Field Fastener for its exemplary governance practices.

     

Susan Sandlund
Managing Director, Practice Leader
Pearl Meyer

Veritas-Pearl Meyer is a New York based leadership and organization effectiveness consulting practice within Pearl Meyer that was co-founded by Dr. Susan Sandlund and Dr. Celeste Coruzzi, organizational psychologists and trusted advisors to CEOs and executive teams for over 25 years. Susan has deep expertise and experience in leading large scale transformation, CEO succession, executive development, culture change and board effectiveness. In addition to her organization consulting practice, Susan also served as a trustee and Compensation Committee Chair for Bon Secours Health System (BSHSI) for over 10 years and currently serves as a trustee and Lead Director for Peckham Industries. Susan is Hogan Assessment certified.

     

John Anderson
Corporate Board Member

John Anderson is a seasoned business leader and board member with a unique combination of financial and human resources skills. He is a leading expert in business strategy and performance alignment, human capital strategy, executive compensation, corporate governance, as well as leadership succession. He has an extensive background as a board member as well as a retained independent adviser to corporate boards.

John has more than 40 years of consulting experience in executive compensation and talent management/alignment. He held several senior leadership roles during his 30 years at consultancy Hewitt Associates, including global practice leader of the Compensation, Talent & Organization consulting line of business. He served on Hewitt’s Executive Committee until the firm’s IPO. In 2010, he was a founding partner of Meridian Compensation Partners, formed from the board-level consulting business spun off from Hewitt.

He has been a corporate board member at private family-owned companies and has had significant board leadership experience at several large non-profit organizations. John has been a member of Private Directors Association since 2019 and is the Vice President of the Chicago chapter.
He received his B.A. in Economics from Northwestern University and also received his M.B.A. in Finance and Accounting from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University. He is a Certified Public Accountant.

John is married to Megan Paynter Anderson. They have two grown children with five grandchildren.

Ed Steinhoff

Pearl Meyer

Ed Steinhoff is a managing director and consulting team leader at Pearl Meyer. In his management role, he oversees a team of senior compensation consultants in the execution of the firm’s growth strategy and in the development of consultants at various stages in their careers. With more than 25 years’ experience in executive compensation, Ed works with the boards of directors and senior management teams of public and private companies, ranging from small and middle-market firms to multibillion-dollar corporations, to design pay programs that drive business performance and value creation, secure high-performing executive talent, and meet both regulatory standards and stakeholder expectations. Ed leads client engagements across many industries, with a focus on insurance, banking, manufacturing, and construction and engineering organizations. Prior to joining Pearl Meyer, Ed led the Michigan market compensation business at Mercer. He also has corporate compensation experience with Amoco Corporation in Chicago. Ed received a bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Georgetown University and a master of Business Administration degree from the University of Michigan Ross School of Business. He speaks regularly on compensation issues and is a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors and WorldatWork.
