Libby Utter
Lyman Executive Search

The common thread running through Libby Utter’s career? Growing relationships, developing talent and helping organizations thrive.

In her current role as a retained executive recruiter, Ms. Utter connects mid-sized businesses with their next generation of leaders. She spearheads C-level searches for top leadership (CEOs, GMs, President, VPs and board members) and supports new business development activities at Lyman Executive Search.

Her background includes more than 16 years’ executive search experience, including past president of The Wood Group, and a proven track record of success in organizational leadership, revenue generation and client satisfaction. In every engagement she brings astute business acumen, high energy, professionalism and caring to her work. Her experiences as a search professional, company president, non-profit executive and board member give Ms. Utter a unique perspective on role of leadership in an organization.

Outside of the office, Ms. Utter shares her talents as a community volunteer and committed board member, currently serving as President of the Private Directors Association (Minnesota Chapter). Ms. Utter’s past board service includes the board of directors for Theater Latte Da, board chair roles with the Minnesota Brain Injury Alliance, Minnesota Stroke Association and the Scleroderma Foundation (MN).

Ms. Utter holds a bachelor’s degree in English literature from the University of Michigan.

       

Margrette Newhouse
Board Member

Margrette Newhouse brings big picture thinking, new insights and curiosity to the Board room.

Her professional career spans engagement of her own family construction business, commercial banking executive leader, an endowed chair professor/leader in higher education and currently focused on her portfolio career of executive advising, organizational strategist and independent director. She currently serves on the board of Scherer Bros. Lumber Co. (4th gen family/privately held) and nonprofit Crescent Cove, one of three palliative and hospice homes for children in the US.
Margrette is committed to professional development in order to bring value to her board and committee service. She has leveraged the many opportunities that the Private Directors Association provides to its membership including local programming, national webinars and the current three on-demand educational courses. Margrette has gained certificates of completion of the three on-demand educational courses: Certificate in Private Governance, ESOP Governance Essentials and Private Equity Portfolio Company Governance.

Margrette received her MBA from the Carlson School of Management, University of Minnesota and her BA from College of Saint Benedict.
