Rudy Bustamante
Vice President Executive & Professional Risk Solutions
USI Insurance Services

Rudy joined USI in 2022, continuing his career in the Executive & Professional lines of the insurance industry. He partners with CEOs, executives, and solopreneurs, with the goal of procuring risk transfer products to mitigate such firm’s operational risk exposures globally. This includes Cyber & Data Privacy Liability, Media Liability, Directors & Officers [D&O], Employment Practices Liability [EPL], Fiduciary Liability, and Errors & Omissions [E&O] | Professional Liability for several industry classes, such as: Financial Services, Technology/Security, Media, Business products, and services.

Prior to joining USI, Rudy held the position of Assistant Vice President, for the Southwest Region at HUB International serving in the Encino, California, office; as well as, the position of Associate Broker for Socius Insurance Services, Inc., working in the Los Angeles, California, office. In these roles, Rudy focused on partnering with clients in understanding their risk exposures, in order to provide the best insurance solutions possible.

Rudy is a graduate from The University of California, Los Angeles.

Originally from San Francisco, California, Rudy now resides in the Dallas-Fort Worth metro area.

           

Chauncey M. Lane
Partner
Holland & Knight

Chauncey M. Lane is a transactional and corporate governance attorney in Holland & Knight's Dallas office. Mr. Lane structures and negotiates complex transactions for strategic buyers and sellers as well as private equity firms in the technology and financial services industries.

A thought leader on rapidly evolving deal trends and strategies, Mr. Lane is regularly called on to advise clients on their most significant transactions, including stock and asset acquisitions, going private transactions, leveraged buyouts, carve-outs, platform acquisitions, add-on acquisitions and recapitalizations. Mr. Lane regularly leverages his transactional skills and knowledge to advise clients on cross-border transactions in Europe and South Asia, among other international jurisdictions.

Mr. Lane also serves as an adviser to venture capital funds and other alternative financing vehicles, where he regularly leads significant investment transactions into emerging growth companies and strategic partnerships. Often serving as outside general counsel and a trusted business adviser to his fund clients, Mr. Lane has a breadth of knowledge on the many issues that venture-backed operating companies regularly face.

In addition to his legal practice, Mr. Lane, a U.S. Army veteran, has a passion for helping his fellow veterans and handles several pro bono cases on their behalf each year.
Prior to joining Holland & Knight, Mr. Lane was an attorney at a multinational law firm in Dallas. During law school, he was a member of the Texas Tech Law Review. 

           

Melendy Lovett
Experienced Board Director

Melendy Lovett is a proven leader who brings sound strategy, people and technology together to achieve record-setting financial results. Melendy was President of the TI Education Technology business for ten years, followed by board membership and C-suite leadership at Trinity Industries. Over her C-suite career, Melendy has held global and North American SVP general management roles as well as her Chief Admin Officer role; in addition, through organization transitions, she has held every C-suite role other than Chief Legal Officer. Her background includes extensive strategic M&A experience including the 2018 spin-off of Trinity’s infrastructure businesses as new public company Arcosa.

She is a current Daseke, Inc Board Member and Audit Committee Chair (DSKE Nasdaq), and a former Board Member, HR Committee Chair at Trinity Industries (TRN NYSE). Melendy also has more than twenty years of experience on education-related non-profit boards.

Ellen Shew Holland is President of Strategic Risk Frameworks, LLC (SRF), an independent risk advisory firm specializing in minimizing the ever-present risk of client strategy so that the client can focus on bottom-line growth. She adds value to client entities by focusing on strategic enterprise risk, resilience, emerging risks, and supply chain assessments while providing them with effective resources in a dynamic environment.

Ellen is a member of the University of Texas, Dallas, Institute for Excellence in Corporate Governance (IECG) as well as a member of the Private Directors Association Dallas (PDA) Chapter. She also serves as an Expert Content Creator for the International Board Director Competency Designation (IBDC.D), through Mark Pfister Strategy Group. She is a Distinguished Risk Manager (DRM), past president, board member, and former finance chair of the University Risk Management & Insurance Association (URMIA) with over 3,000 members. Throughout her career she has been active in the Risk and Insurance Management Society (RIMS).
