Value Creation through Effective Strategy Execution

Overview

Creating business value through strategy execution is a fundamental skill for boards, management teams and staff. Even the best strategic plans are meaningless if they can’t be implemented. Join us at this Roeder Consulting-sponsored event with a distinguished panel of board members and former c-level executives who have “been there, done that”. Our panel has had oversight of large cross-functional implementations that succeeded in delivering tremendous business value. Mr. Anton and Ms. Gosche will touch on major IT implementations, acquisitions, new product development, and other types of major transformations. Discussions will focus on critical areas board members must understand, including:

  • Duty of Care
  • What type of projects should rise to the level of board awareness? What attributes put it on the board agenda vs. the operating agenda: financial, risk, strategic importance, etc
  • What should the board know about the project? How do they know if it’s gone off the rails? What is the correct level of Director oversight (noses in, fingers out)? Does this vary by type/size of project?
  • Communication
  • How can the executive team and the board most effectively communicate? What is the best cadence, reporting structure, involvement of board committees vs. the full board, etc.
  • Examples/war stories of major implementation successes and failures
  • Q&A

She understands how it feels to know where you need to be but struggle to get there. Sometimes it’s too much to do, or lack of skills, or not knowing who or what to ask, or not knowing where to start. Janet becomes a part-time extension of the leadership team, meeting operational priorities and getting results.
